Christians are different from Jews because they asserted that Jesus is the Messiah and developed a new theology to buttress that assertion. Additionally, most Jews refused to accept the argument since they considered Jesus' failure as a Messianic Candidate quite clear.
Christians believe Jesus is the Messiah, as well as God's one and only son incarnate.
The Jews do not agree, and are still waiting for the promised Messiah, who (in Judaism) will be fully human.
The core message of Christianity is: "God made Himself incarnate through His Son, the Messiah, who sacrificed Himself on Earth as atonement for all of humanity's sins." None of that has anything to do with Judaism.
God, in Judaism, does not take physical form or self-incarnate. The human sacrifice of Jesus and communion is at fundamental odds with the Torah's prohibition on Human Sacrifice, its prohibition of blood consumption, its prohibition on cannibalism, and its prohibition on expiation for another's sins. There is no verse in the Old Testament that explains that one of the purposes of the Messiah is to die for sin at all (never mind for the sins of other people), even though there are numerous explicit requirements that Jews point to the Messiah needing to perform. The Jewish Messiah is to be an Earthly King. As a result, a person claiming to be God himself is instantly recognized as not being the Messiah in Judaism.
Christians believe Jesus is the messiah, Jews don't.
True Christians do not hate Jews. Nominal Christians may hate them because they are a different religion.
No, Christians do not reject Jews. However, Jews reject Christians.
Jerusalem is a city that is sectioned into four quarters and is special in different ways to Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
No single Event stabilized relations between Christians and Jew. When Christians stopped persecuting Jews in different regions of the world and spreading libelous information about Jews, relations improved.
Jews like Paul persecuted the christians.
Christians believe that the Messiah Has Come. Jews believe that He Has not.
Jews are not Christians. Christians believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah. Jews (and remember- Jesus was a Jew himself) believe that the Messiah has not yet come.
Christians have long been suspicious of Jews simply because Jews are not Christians. People are often suspicious of anyone whose beliefs are different than their own.
Hell no, many people hated Jews for thousands of years, mainly Christians hated Jews due to different religious believes.
They had the power to persecute Jews and Christians if they had wanted to
At the fundamental level there is no difference, we are all natives of Planet Earth and as such we should care for it and each other. At the Spiritual level the people that we call Hindus somehow managed to keep intact a thread of wisdom that runs far into the past but is also relevant in the present and the future. imho
