Because it is the filth pillar of Islam.

There are five pillars, i.e. five basic acts which are considered obligatory for believers and are the foundation for Muslims belief system:

1. Belief - that there is only One God, no partners and no associates and the Muhammad is a Prophet

2. Worship - Love this only One God with all your heart and soul.

3. Charitable giving - Love thy neighbour as thyself . If you have give to those who do not have.

4. Fasting during the month of Ramadan - going without food, water etc during a prescribed time frame - as a reminder of people who go through the same not out of choice but out of necessity.

5. The pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj) at least once in a lifetime.
