There are currently about 30 different species of porcupines. Of those, three are listed as "vulnerable" while the remaining 27 are either "least concern" or there isn't enough data to make a determination.

If you're asking specifically about the North American porcupine, Erethizon dorsatum, it currently enjoys a "low risk/least concern" status.

There are twenty-nine different species of porcupine. Of these species, two are considered threatened, and are classified as vulnerable. These are the Philippine porcupine of the Philippines and the Bristle-spined rat of Brazil. There are six different species without enough information to determine whether or not they are in danger of extinction - the black dwarf porcupine, Andean porcupine, Santa Marta porcupine, Streaked dwarf porcupine, Roosmalen's dwarf porcupine, and the brown hairy dwarf porcupine.
