Why are Republicans like Senator Chuck Schumer opposing President Obama's Iran deal?

First of all, Chuck Schumer is a Democrat. There are a number of Republicans that joined with him in opposing Barack Obama's Iran deal, but he is not a Republican.

As far as his dissent from Obama, Chuck Schumer has made support for Israel a key element of his political platform and since most Jewish organizations and Israel lobbies are opposed to the Iran deal, Chuck Schumer is opposed to it. The main reasons that people who support Israel generally oppose the Iran deal are the following:

• Iran would no longer be ostracized in the international community and would be able to revive its economy that was destroyed by crippling sanctions.
• Iran would use this increased capital to fund terrorist and paramilitary organizations in the Middle East such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, al-Quds forces, Jaysh al-Mahdi, and Asa'ib el-Haq. Some of these organizations target Israel with violence.
• The deal effectively accepts that Iran will be a nuclear threshold state in ten years.
• The deal does not provide for unscheduled inspections of certain nuclear facilities, which means that Iran would have advanced notice whenever a nuclear facility is to be investigated and could hide their production in advance.
• The deal does not address any of the other issues that the US has with Iran such as its anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism, anti-Israel sentiment, and other grievances between the US and Iran.

First, Sen Schumer is not a Republican- he is a member of the Democrat party. Why is he opposing the Iran deal? He thinks it is a bad deal.
