I'm sorry, I couldn't realise what he wanted to say. Most people live in Communist-era blocks of flats, practically identical in all Communist states and in the former Soviet Union. The rooms are as tiny as yours, and the districts are sad, bleak, sometimes quite shabby, even decayed in impoverished neighbourhoods. We also have houses - those built in Bucharest during the late 1800s and early 1900s are of French inspiration, but some are built in a typical neo-Romanian style. The traditional rural architecture used to be a treasure, a gem - but we don;t value the past, we demolish happily and we build modern, ugly monstrosities and we paint them magenta of all colours. If you want to have an idea about the traditional architecture, check out the site of the Village Museum in Bucharest or the one in Sibiu. (we even had thatched roofs!).
