There is a old tradition of caroling. Children, in groups of 2-10, go from door to door and sing Christmas carols, such as STEAUA SUS RASARE (The star appears) or ASTAZI S_A NASCUT CHRISTOS (Today Christ was born), and others. They usually sing the whole song and receive symbolic gifts such as cookies or fruits. Often people give them small amounts of money. Organized choirs sing for festivities.
