the answer too my question is that they have come up with better technology.
Steam locomotives were commonly used for over a hundred years ending by the 1950's, so many presidents were president during that time frame.
Sibiu Steam Locomotives Museum was created in 1994.
Steam can be used many way for many purposes. 1) Steam is used as a drive medium in nuclear reactors to generate electric 2) Steam is used for heating large buildings and office towers 3) Steam is used in Autoclaves for sterilizing medical instruments 4) Steam was used to drive railway locomotives before the developement of diesel electric locomotives 5) Steam was used to power ocean going ships by means of a steam turbine That's just a few ideas for you
when they wanted to:)
Diesel electric is used on locomotives because the diesel electric system is much cleaner and quieter and more efficient than the old steam locomotives. The diesel fuel is used to run a generator which produces electric power which is used to power the electromagnetic drive motors mounted on the locomotives axles!
A railway (or railroad) that uses steam-powered locomotives.
It is used to convert saturated or wet steam into dry steam for use in steam turbines, which are used for marine propulsion and the generation of electricity. +++ Also used for steam feeding reciprocating engines such as railway locomotives. It is not just a matter of dryness. Superheating allows the steam to work as a gas for longer during its passage through the turbine or cylinder, hence increasing the thermal efficiency of the whole plant.

A steam engineA Locomotive is a self-propelled train car that is used to push or pull a chain of train railroad cars. Locomotives can run on steam, diesel, or electricity. Steam-powered locomotives were developed in the early 1800s. The word locomotive can also be used as relating to movement from place to place, such as travel.
