Interstitial cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder that is not caused by infection. It has many of the same symptoms as bacterial infections, which are much more common, so people are usually treated with antibiotics for an infection several times before the true cause of the problem is found.

Since there is no infection antibiotics will not help.
