Ferrets are fed a high protein diet because they have a short gastrointestinal (GI) tract and the flora (the organisms living in the GI tract) are very simple. It takes about 3 to 4 hours for a ferret to digest food that causes a poor absorption of nutrients.

Does feeding ferrets raw meat cause them to bite?

Raw meat is a ferrets natural diet - they are strict carnivores Feeding ferrets a natural diet does not cause them to bite. I have 3 ferrets all of which are fed a raw diet. There is no connection between feeding a diet that is natural to a ferret and aggression towards humans. I can tell you this from my own personal experience and the experience of others both in present times and historically. Feeding ferrets raw meat will not cause them to bite. Ferrets are strict carnivores - meat eaters - they have to eat meat in able to survive and before they were domesticated, raw meat was the diet. Ferrets naturally bite as young kits and need to be trained not to bite. Abused ferrets are "fear biters"

A ferret with cells in the pancreas. do they admit a bad body odor. i know they have weight loss and hid leg weakness. ive been told that this is what she has but latly she has a very vile smell.?

Odor is not one of the symptoms of insulinomas in ferret. However, an older ferret may have an adrenal gland tumor along with insulinoma. Ferrets with adrenal gland tumors may have a different, more odorous body odor. Insulinomas in ferrets can be caused by poor diet, which some foods fed to ferrets can cause more odors. Make sure your ferret is frequently fed high protein foods to keep blood sugar as stable as possible and avoid any snack high in sugar. Refer to links below for more information

Feed for broiler layer an cattle?

They all get different types of feed. Cattle cannot be fed animal-byproducts of any sort, but chickens can. Layers need to be fed grain that is high in calcium and phosphorus and protein. Broilers are fed feed high in protein and energy to increase muscle mass. CHickens can be fed a variety of grains: barley, corn, wheat, rye, etc. and live off of this with no problems. Cattle can also be fed a variety of grains, but need a roughage diet to balance out the high-protein ration to decrease the incidence of bloat and acidosis. Cattle cannot live off of grain like chickens can, and need to eat grass and/or hay along with the serving of grain they get.

What is the Diet of a Siberian Husky?

The diet for a Siberian Husky would be typical of any domestic dog. The exception to that would be if you are working the dog in which case they need to be fed a high protein, high fat diet in order to keep their weight on. If they are not working this type of diet would cause them to become over weight very quickly. As with humans the more they work and run the more they need to eat.

Can horses get sick from alfalfa pellets?

Yes they can. Alfalfa is high in protein and calcium and can cause mineral and vitamin imbalances if fed improperly. However that being said it is a good source of nutrition if fed correctly. You can add just a few pounds of it to a horses diet and see a marked improvement in most cases. You should always consult with your equine vet before changing a horses diet.
