Because of the extra layer in its cell wall, the lipopolysaccharides (LPS). And because of this extra layer it has the ability to produce endotoxins which is a part of the Lipid A in the (LPS) layer. So unlike gram positive which produces exotoxins, gram negative bacteria can produce Exotoxins and endotoxins.

Is gram positive bigger than gram negative?

Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria are different in their colouration when dyed and viewed with a light microscope. Gram-positive appear violet, and Gram-negative appear red. Gram-positive and Gram-negative classification, however, has nothing to do with size.

Why gram positive bacteria typically more resistant that gram negative bacteria to antibiotics that disrupt plasma membranes such as polymyxin B?

Polymixin antibiotics interact with the lipopolysaccharide molecule of Gram negative bacteria. This component forms the outer leaflet of the outer membrane. Gram-positive bacteria do not have an outer membrane or lipopolysaccharide and thus polymixin antibiotics are unable to bind to the cell.
