Can I dispose of used tires myself at a landfill and what will they charge?

Landfills normally don't allow you to dispose of tires due to the large volume of space they take up. It's easier to drop off or recycle them for other uses and have someone else shred them. Landfills allow shredded tires because they take up less space.

Why are used tires so bad for the environment?

It is not the tires that are bad for the environment, it is the storage and disposal of them that is a problem. The fumes that are created are toxic, and harmful for the environment. Many landfills no longer accept them, since they do not decompose very rapidly and take up space.

How do you do a complete tire replacement?

You would have to take all your tires off and put the car on car jacks. You will have to take the old tires with you to have the new tires you purchase put on the old rims. There is going to probably be a cost involved in taking the old tires off and putting the new ones on. You cannot change the tires to your old rims yourself without a special piece of equipment. You will also have to pay to get rid of your old tires.
