Because storage temperature for dosages and different types of medications and facilitated materials is often colder than what you find at home. For instance, topical substances are sometimes only stored at 15-Celsius (59F). Cheers. j

It has been historically believed that a lowered operating room temperature reduced the chance of perioperative infection rates in patients however this has been challenged in several medical quarters. There is growing understanding that lowered temperatures reduce blood flow and may therefore acually increase the potential for infection to occur. There are in fact no substances or drugs that require the room to be colder than normal room temperature. The only exception to this is with certain muscle relaxants and it is acceptable to have these out of the fridge for quite a long time. One major benefit to the cooler environment is to ensure the operating team aren't sweating into your wound. It is hot in those gowns!!!

What theatres were operating in London in the 1600s?

In the early 1600s the following theatres were in operation: Newington Butts (1576), The Curtain (1577), The Rose (1587), The Swan (1595), The Globe (1599), The Fortune (1600), The Boar's Head (1600), The Red Bull (1604), The Hope (1614). These were all open-air theatres. Closed theatres included The Blackfriars (1596), The Cockpit (1616), and Salisbury Court (1629). The performance of plays was banned in 1642 and continued to be so for 18 years. During this time the old playhouses disappeared. When dramatic performance was restored in 1660, two new theatres, Drury Lane and Dorset Gardens, were constructed. As there were only two legal companies of players, these were all the theatres they needed.

Are all IMAX theatres the same?

There are two different types of IMAX Theatres, IMAX domed theatres and IMAX flat-screened theatres. IMAX domed theatres have the image on a domed shaped screen in a generally circular room so that the image is projected in front, above, and to the left and right of you. IMAX flat screened theatres are like a larger version of a standard movie screen. IMAX flat screens have the capability to show 3D movies, unlike domes screened theatres.
