The majority of people will (proven fact) vote on how the candidate *looks* over what they will do. If a candidate is gay, or got a DUI in their past is somehow very relevant during a campaign. Just look at the '08 race (in America). Republicans being bashed for voting with Bush, Democrats being bashed for out-of-context quotes.
