Plastic bags are bad for the environment for many reasons, which include:
* they are not biodegradable, Instead, they break up into smaller pieces of plastic until eventually becoming plastics dusts.
* people may lose them causing them to blow around (litter)
* they are dangerous to small children
* animals that ingest them may become sick and / or die
* making them contribute to the global emissions.
* can end up at sea through garbage dumps at seaside
* Plastic degradation at sea takes between 45-1000 years.
* they are RECYCLABLE but people need to take them and reuse them or donate them to thrift stores to be reused versus throwing them away
* it takes oil to produce them and it takes more oil to recycle them than it does to produce
* Burning plastic results in air pollution and toxic ash.
You could lose oxygen, when a plastic bag is over your head, and suffocate.
Plastic bags and other garbage are also, if not properly disposed of, very dangerous to animals; leaving this kind of trash lying around is bad for us and the environment in general.
Plastic bags tend to act as a plug when it gets clogged up in either the chamber openings of the cow's stomach, or in the small intestine or large intestine. Most of the time they cause problems in the cow's stomach because there is a much larger area for the plastic bag to be able to expand and cover an opening, impeding in proper digestion. If this is not fixed, the cow will often bloat and die.
Well because people can suffocate on them. Other than that if they're not recycled they pollute landfills and such.
Because they can put them over their heads and suffocate
If children are very young, they might swallow the plastic which can choke them. They can also put the bag over their head and then not be able to breathe.
They can soffacate them
yea
Making a paper bag uses about twice as much oil as making a plastic bag.
The government should ban plastic bags because it is harmful for the environment. Eg. Because plastic bags are sometimes left on the ground they can get caught up in the ocean and kill fish and other...
Yes, because it is harmful to our environment.. :)
Plastic is useful in that it is strong, flexible, and versatile. It can be harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly. It is also composed of many toxic chemicals like vinyl chloride and benzene which can be harmful to human health.
yes all plastic bags can be recycledActually the so called "green" plastic bags designed to decompose cannot be recycled. Even one mixed in with a batch of ordinary bags being recycled can ruin it all.
Although all forms of consumption have some environmental impact, paper bags are much less harmful than plastic bags are.
Plastic shipping bags are not a green item. Plastic is not biodegradable and when incinerated it emits harmful carbons that deteriorate the ozone layer.

Everyday non biodegradable plastic bags are very harmful to the environment on many levels. They do not break down naturally and when burned, they give off highly toxic gases. It is far better to use bio-degradable bags for the good of the future of our planet
Yes, because it is harmful to our environment.. :)
it can harm environment & our respiration system
It is a waste of trees if u get paper bags. if u get plastic bags u also harm the planet... somehow idk
the use of plastic can be harmful to the environment because you often can't reuse it without chemicals getting into the plastic so you throw it away so harmful chemicals get into the landfill you should be aware to not to use the polythene bags because you should use paper bags this may help environment
