ANSWER:

The reason for this is a protective measure in that if something happened to one, you have a back up to rely on. If one lung were to collapse because of a crush type injury, the other lung would have to work twice as hard to provide the same amount of oxygen to the body, but you would survive.

You need to have two lungs because it balances your heart rate when you run or exercise your heart muscles. They work as a filter taking in Oxygen and spreading it to keep your body working at a steady rate. Imagine how hard it is to run 4 miles if you were running that much you are using it and need more air than you had before if u were walking and you could not catch your breath

There are two bronchi because there are two lungs in the human body. The bronchi are responsible for allowing the air to go from the mouth and nose into the lungs.
