People in every day life are expected to know dozens, hundreds of survival skills- don't stick a fork into the toaster, change the oil in your car, lock your front door, etc. That's a huge discussion for another thread, I think. But I do think we'll continue to have problems like this until people do start to see personal data security as something that they need to take ownership of. Whether that's using Geeky tricks or just accepting that using open WiFi is like taking candy from strangers is an exercise for the reader, I suppose.
