That is a good question that does not have a good answer. Basically there are more mouths to feed than there is access to food. I did not say that we did not have enough food to feed everyone, we just don't have the political, social, and economic mechanisms to do that. About 6 million children die every year from starvation. The children in the US are experiencing obesity and Diabetes at epidemic proportions. That clearly says that something is wrong when the difference between those that have and those that have not can be at such extremes. Also, even though the US is an affluent society, 1 out of 6 children live in poverty and are malnourished.
