Because Mr. Bush believes we have a duty to spread democracy. I do not know where he got this impression. Despite our president's reputation, he is not an idiot, as he thinks things through, though his media persona needs some real work. We invaded Iraq because Osama bin Laden had ties with Al Quaida and the Taliban, who have ties with Iraq, and therefore, Hussein, well, until our idiot of a president took him out by accident (and yes, that was some serious sarcasm, as the capture of Saddam "made up for" the loss of Bin Laden, because Saddam had a country, Osama didn't). Iran is the next step, and had we not invaded Iraq and taken Hussein, Iran could have done God knows what with their nukes before we had a clue that they were even developing them. And yes, my message board is open for further discussion, as I may not have all my facts in a row! Feel free to drop some hate mail!
The United Nations had not authorized an invasion of Iraq. Bush worried that invading Iraq would lead to an extended occupation Bush thought the invasion would lead to a quagmire
The United Nations was trying to keep Iraq from invading Kuwait
No, they didn't.
Iraq invaded Iran in 1980 and 1981. By 1982, Iran was beginning to turn the tide and begin invading Iraq. Iraq invaded no other territory in this year.
Before invading Mesopotamia, the Babylonians lived in the region of Babylonia, which is located in present-day Iraq. Babylonia was situated in the southern part of Mesopotamia and eventually became a powerful empire under King Hammurabi.
No; they did not think that there was any evidence of 'weapons of mass destruction' inside Iraq; which was the only reason for invading Iraq. As it turned out later, they were right.
There were 3 golf wars; which one refers to your question?
bush thoug ht the invasion would lead t oa quagmire
It was suspected that Sadam Hussein had "weapons of mass destruction" that he was hiding from the UN inspectors.
There are several. Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip all remain in a de jure state of war with Israel. In the case of Iraq, it has never even signed an armistice agreement with Israel since invading in 1948.
Babies, children, adults, wives, mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers. Occupying armies soldiers. Iraqi's fighting to get rid of invading and occupying forces.
