She takes all her depressed feelings from being dumped and thrown around an puts it in her songs
Actually, there are as many happy and sad old songs as there are "modern" songs, it's just that typically the most emotional songs become "immortal" from becoming popular, as when someone can relate to a song they are more likely to listen to it again. However, after certain periods in history, such as the 1940s (after wars, depressions, etc) a lot of people and singers seem to prefer sad songs.

If you mean Pink! The singer then her song Sober is quite sad. So is 'F*kin' perfect'. They're the ones I can think of from the top of my head :D xx
"I'm so lonesome I could cry," with best version by Elvis. He sang this at his Hawaii concert, and it's on DVD. Before he sang it, he apologized for singing such a sad song.
sad-----------------------------middle-----------------------so sad tada! there's your answer!
anything dark and brooding so emo rock and sad love songs probably.
Meaningful songs? I think they differ from person to person. Some songs that have a lot of meaning to me personally are 'The Middle' by Jimmy Eat World, 'Only Hope' by Mandy Moore (although I like Switchfoot's version better), 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' by Green Day, and 'Extraordinary' by Mandy Moore. Oh, and 'Things I'll never say' by Avril Lavine. I don't really like sad songs, so I don't have any suggestions for that.
