Undigested cellulose is fibre. Fibre gives your gut muscles something to push against and prevents them from atrophying.
Cellulose, while it cannot be digested by humans, still can serve a function in digestion. Consuming a lot of cellulose (fiber) helps to prevent constipation, and it also minimizes intestinal disorders and may also serve as an aid in dieting.

If you mean "can it be dissolved" then I have no idea. If you mean "can it be digested" then yes it can. Cellulose, a molecule that forms the cell wall of plant cells, cannot be digested by humans, hence why there's sweetcorn in the toilet after you've eaten it, if you know what I mean. However, the rest of the cell can be digested, just like animal cells. By chewing your food properly you can break the cells in the sweetcorn open, allowing digestive enzymes from your stomach to enter the cells and digest everything, leaving just the cellulose behind. Salad cannot be dissolved in liquid (so it is insoluble in that context).
There was a story about a mischievous boy who walked in his dining room, saddled up a chair and said to his father, hiya pop, ya ole dust mop. He was amazed he didn't get in trouble. I did the same thing 35 years ago and my dad smiled and said pretty good.
Sadly, I cannot find a recipe for macaronit salad anywhere on line. I am not even sure what a macaronit is to be honest with you. Do you mean macaroni by any chance?
Its a heterogeneous mix because the particles of the salad are not blended completely together. A homogeneous mix is when the particles are mixed so finely that you cannot see the individual particles.

That line doesn't seem to exist, but Miles Kington said, Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
it is because you cannot see all of the ingredients that are in it...while in a salad or something you can, that is called heterogeneous.

Short answer: No. A salad dressing is specifically a colloid emulsion (when shaken/prepared), but easily becomes a suspension as the oil and water (in the vinegar) separate over time. On top of that, things like mustard seeds and herbs cause the dressing to become a mixture (as they could be filtered out). A salad in its entirety is a mixture, as the leaves are not dissolved in the dressing. So, salad cannot be a solution and neither is its dressing.
