if your question is not specific enough for it to be answered then people edit the question before they answer the question.
No, questions that you edited before joining The Initiates Program do not count towards your total for the editing questions mission. Similarly, any questions that you edited whilst on a previous mission do not count towards your total either. It is only the questions you edit from the start date of your mission that count towards the mission. You can check how many questions you have edited by clicking on "My contributions" on the blue menu and filtering to "Questions (edited)".

The questions are either deleted, moved to a catch-all category, or edited and reentered into the community.
As a site supervisor, I actively search for what you term "lame" questions. Some are edited to make them easier to understand. Some are trashed, these are the questions that are unsuitable for the site.

Yes, WikiAnswers has more questions on it then the other site Yahoo Answers. It's answers are also generally better, as questions can be added to and edited.
