magnetisation characteristic of dc generator is nothing but the open circuit characteristic of dc generator where we determine the operating characteristics of dc machines.it is used to determine the open circuit armature voltage keeping armature current zero,at rated speed and after few laps of time filed current is gonig to be raised from zero.where the armature open circuit voltage is reached above its rated value. '
It is dc resistance, use to measure the rated current at primary and secondary side
the capacity of a transformer is defined as a product of voltage and current flowing through it.AS THE CURRENT IS MEASURED IN AMPERES AND VOLTAGE IN VOLTS, Hence transformers are measured/rated in KVA
"Rated current" is the current the device (motor or transformer?) is designed to handle at full load. "Tripping current" is the current where a protective device (fuse, breaker) will open to protect the device from overload/overheating. "Tripped current", may be the current the tripping device measured prior to making the decision to trip, if you are reading this from a digital protective device like a relay or OCR.
2 meg ohms, 2,000,000 ohms to ground. 1 meg ohms.
Short circuit ratio is the ratio of field current required for the rated voltage at open circuit to the field current required for the rated armature current at short circuit
The base speed of a DC motor is the speed at which it operates while delivering rated torque with rated armature voltage and field current applied.
Resistors are rated in ohms for their resistance value and in watts for the power they are capable of handling. They are not rated in volts or current.

Because if the rated current is lower than the actual current, it causes resistance to the electrical flow which in turn is dispelled as heat.

yes because of bulb resistance :)
Checked Stephen J. Chapman's Electric Machinery Fundamentals page 287. It says: Short Circuit Ratio (SCR) for the synchronous generator is the ratio of the field current required for the rated voltage at OPEN circuit to the field current require for the rated armature current at SHORT circuit.
this is range of 4 ohms resistance in an electrical device. Ohms is a measure of resistance in electrical qualities. Circuits and devices are rated , or measured for there resistance in ohms to meet a designed electrical need. Is this related to a speaker?
Place a current meter (rated for several hundred amps) in series with the battery. Or Place a large gauge wire of known resistance in series with your battery, use a high precision volt meter to measure the voltage drop across this piece of wire, then divide the measured voltage drop by the resistance of the wire. This will give you the current traveling through it.
Yes! · To accelerate the motor to the rated speed · To limit the starting current in the armature to a safe value · To disconnect the motor in case of a supply failure or overload
