Because they are hunting dogs, have you noticed the white tip on the end of their tail?? That is on every beagle. It is used so that when they are hunting, people can find them easily. I have a pet beagle at home, her name is Ruby, and the time that she ran away, I found her by spotting the tip of her tail in the dark!!
