Well, there already is wireless internet. Why computers can't charge wirelessly is a different matter. It is difficult to transport electricity through air, not to mention extremely dangerous and not at all energy efficient. Tesla managed to shoot several thousand volts of electricity over a mile, but there's no (discovered) way to make electricity follow a certain path perfectly through wireless means.
