If you CAN turn to the right but it's really hard then it's probably your rack and pinion that's shot. Some times low (or none at all) Power Steering fluid will worsen this too.
I am trying to change the belt on a 2.2 L, 96 Pontiac Sunfire. There is no adjustment on the alt. or power steering that I can see and I cant see how the tensioners work. Anyone have any ideas.
cant you need a scanner to check codes from 1996 and newer
i wont to change my shifter but cant take off old one
i have a probleme whit my 1996 grand am i cant change the plug cause there a bar on front of it
as far as i know you cant check the transmission fluid on a 2000 Pontiac sunfire. It uses dexcool automatic transmission fluid and very rarley needs to be changed, i have a manual shift and it never has to be changed. Actually the only way that you can change it is by having it flushed the same way you flush a radiator, it has to be sucked out by a machine.
yes it is on the drivers side of the engine compartment, right on top you cant miss it.
Let's start with the year of your Sunfire. That might make a difference. Then, you need to tell us if you have a manual or automatic transmission. FriPilot
Pontiac Grand Am. I cant find an exact number for you sorry.
have you done a compression test it may be a bad valve or piston or crack head gasket or head problem
