it is the Sabbath for us, and in the Torah we are instructed by God to not work on the Sabbath. this includes igniting a spark, doing business, planting, etc. it is a taste of the purity of the Messianic era, because we are living happily, peacefully, and closer to God on the Sabbath. we do not do nothing. we learn, rest, pray, sing, enjoy family and friends, and eat calm, delicious meals. it is hard to explain the heightened sense of spirituality and closeness to God felt on the Sabbath.
