The reason cress seeds bent towards the light is because they are positively photropic.
you can pot dem by putting cottenwool and tissuepaper (toilet paper) in a plastic container then sprinkle in the seeds.
Certain seeds (like cress or grass) need little to grow, but they do need water. That is why your seeds wont grow on dry cotton wool.
