Whats the value of a 1902 and 1907 Liberty nickels?

Buffalo nickels were not struck until 1913 so your nickels (which do not have buffaloes on them, correct?) must be from the prior series called Liberty nickels. You can find a price guide at http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/prices/libnkl/pricesgd.shtml , among many such sites.

What is a Buffalo nickel 1919p can't find it in the red book how much is it worth?

I'm very surprised you couldn't find your coin in the Red Book. 1919 is a common date for buffalo nickels. Perhaps you're looking specifically for a "P" mint mark. Remember that Philadelphia did not use a P on nickels until WW2 and then again starting in 1980. That means a 1919 Philadelphia nickel won't have a mint mark, nor will any other coin minted before 1980 except for those wartime nickels and 1979 dollars. Anyway, a 1919 buffalo nickel from Philly retails for a couple of bucks in average condition, up to maybe $14 in Almost Uncirculated condition.

What is the value of a coin with a buffalo on the back?

Several American coins have buffaloes on them. The most famous is of course the original Buffalo Nickel issued from 1913 to 1938. You can find prices for this series at many sites; e.g. http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/prices/bufnkl/pricesgd.shtml One word of caution - early-date Buffalo nickels had a design flaw that caused the date to wear off very quickly. If your coin is missing its date, unfortunately it's considered a "cull" and is worth maybe 15 to 25 cents as a curiosity. A very modified version of the buffalo design was revived for a half a year as part of the 2005 commemorative "Westward Journey" series of nickels. Hundreds of millions of these were struck for circulation and are only worth face value.

Where is the date on an Indian head nickel?

The date position on all Indian head (a/k/a buffalo) nickels is below the neck of the portrait, at roughly the 7:00 position. Many Indian head nickels don't show a date anymore. There was a design flaw in the early coins that caused the date to wear off more quickly than expected. The problem is that nickel is a hard metal, so "quickly" meant about 10 years (!) By the time the defect became obvious and was fixed, more than a decade's worth of nickels were in circulation. Dateless Indian head nickels are called "culls" and have little or no numismatic value. You might find them in a dealer's grab box selling as curiosities for a dime or so.

What is the value of Buffalo nickels?

The value of buffalo nickels will vary depending on the age and condition of the coin. These coins were minted from 1913 to 1938, at three different mints, and values can vary widely. If the date is worn off, the coin is called a "cull" and is only worth 10 or 15 cents. If the date is visible, please see questions "What is the value of a (date) US nickel?" for specific information.

How do you find the date on a buffalo nickel?

The date is located on the lower left side on the obverse -- right on the Indian's shoulder. The date is often one of the first things to wear off these nickels, and without a date, its value is 10 cents or less.

What rare nickels should you look for?

There are almost no rare nickels still in circulation. If you're lucky you might find some at an estate sale or if someone accidentally spends one. General things to know are:Most nickels minted since 1946 have little or no added value; the same is true for 1940 and 1941.1950-D nickels are moderately scarce and worth several dollars in average condition."War nickels" 1942-1945 with a large mint mark over Monticello are worth at least $1 because they contain a small amount of silver.Common-date buffalo nickels are worth at least $1 but that can go up for coins in better condition.Older-date buffalo nickels can be worth a couple of dollars or moreCommon-date Liberty nickels are worth at least $3; older ones can be (but not necessarily are) worth more.

What is the value of a 2002 buffalo nickel?

All 2002 nickels have a picture of Monticello on the back. The only Jefferson nickels to carry an image of a buffalo (actually a bison) were dated 2005 and they're only worth face value if you find them in change.

What is the value of a 2005 buffalo head nickel?

"Buffalo", but not "buffalo head". These nickels show the whole animal! These coins were minted for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial. Hundreds of millions were minted and almost all were snapped up as keepsakes. Any that you find in change will be worth 5 cents only.
