Yes, you can start a sentence with the word 'because.' However, teachers prefer that you do not start a sentence with the word 'because' because most students do not use it correctly. It is perfectly fine to start a sentence with because if you can use it correctly.

for example:

incorrect:

Because I like to eat candy.

correct:

Because I like to eat candy, I have lots of cavity.

^

this sentence is equivalent to 'I have lots of cavity because I eat candy.'

Yes, the word because can start a correct sentence, but I can only think of two such instances: 1. When referring to the word itself. -ex: "Because" can start a sentence. 2. When accompanying a clause that is then followed by another clause, usually in a reason/result format. -ex: Because the economy is declining, I have had particular trouble getting a job. -ex: Because this clause precedes another, I can start this sentence with because.

Many teachers don't like when sentences begin with because; however, if you really want to start it this way, make it a dependent clause. If you do this, make sure the word directly following the comma is the person or thing talked about in the beginning clause. Here's an example: Because of the way she acted in class, Sue was sent to the principal's office. (This is the same as saying: "Sue was sent to the principal's office because of the way she acted." but adds some sentence variety!)

Yes, certainly. You can start a paragraph with a dependent clause, as long as you know you have to provide an independent clause to complete the sentence. Let me offer two examples, but there are many more. For one, you might start a story where you create a conversation: "If I were you," the boss said, "I'd get that proposal ready because the meeting starts in an hour." This made me worried: the boss had never reminded me about a proposal before. She had always trusted me to get things done on time. So, why was she telling me this now?

Or another way to use "if"-- a person is thinking about something they wish would happen: If I could just win the lottery, I know what I would do with the money. I am so tired of having all these bills, and it would be wonderful to pay them all off!

Because it is grammatically incorrect to do so, one may not start a sentence with "because."

And if you do say "I like chez"

You cant start a sentence with and because when you are writing/typing you use and for adding something. If you start a sentence with And then it wouldn't sound right, and wouldn't be right.
