No. Japan is a wealthier and more developed country. As a result, it is better prepared for disasters. It is also better able to cope with disasters when they do happen. India is a very large country with a massive population, the second largest in the world. There are a lot of poor people, many living in bad conditions. When disasters hit, they are badly affected, more severely than people in Japan are.

In an earthquake, what is advised for you to do is to either get under a table, stand in a doorway (strongest part of the building- unless your not ground level, and even if you are the levels above you will collapse, trapping you) or to get outside. hope this helps! :) xxx

You can only prepare to cope better with an earthquake should it happen. 1. Buildings are designed so that they flex rather than break when shaken. 2. They keep stocks of temporary shelters such as tents. 3. They keep stocks of bottled water. 4. They acquire vehicles which can cope with disrupted infrastructure. 5. They draw up action plans so everyone knows what they have to do as soon as there is an earthquake.

Usually their buildings are stronger, and their services are better.
