Why can humans not be blamed for global warming?

Sorry, Global warming is being caused by humans. Every country in the world joined the Paris Agreement (2016) setting goals to try to keep global temperatures rising above 2 degrees Celsius. They all accept that global warming is being caused by human deforestation and burning of fossil fuels.

All this is not to say we are not damaging the planet. We are, every single time a forest is clear cut, or a factory discharges pollutants into a freshwater stream. It is these things we really need to concentrate on instead.

I realize that people say that there is normal changes in climate, such as ice ages (it was tropical at the poles around 135 million years ago) and warm times. But this global warming is different.


200,000 years ago some of us left Africa and some stayed behind. This adventure almost didn't happen as the numbers of humans was rather small. We were first hunter-gathers but that method of feeding is time consuming and often unproductive. We may never have been anything but that except for our brains. We began to think how best it would be to change tactics. From that time forward, through farming, living in villages, having huge farms and living in cities, we no longer were under the influence of the environment (climate) around us. It became the other way around. We didn't need it, so to speak, we could work without it and live anywhere and do anything to feed ourselves. We grew to more than 7 billion but we have left a very large mark on the physical world.

I hope we can undo the damage but I am not sure that will happen. We all need to help out and the 'man-made climate change' deniers may make it impossible. After all, 45% of people think that the dinosaurs lived at the same time as early humans.
