This is a symptom of an out of balance tire or bent wheel.

I have a 1991 Toyota camry and it had a vibration on the steering wheel between
60-72 I found out I had a bad tire on rear driver tire was around 3 years old and looked like tread had just started to come loose . Try moving tires take a good look on the inside and outside of the tire. I bought 2 new rear tires no vibration at all up to 125 mph
You will feel a vibration in the steering wheel
No, you don't get quite the same motions from that as you do a real steering wheel.
# When the tires are new. # When you feel any vibration in the steering wheel that can be attributed to a wheel balance problem.
Vibration of the tire is caused by a uniformity parameter called "variation of radial force". Usually a vehicle's steering wheel will vibrate (called torsional nimble) at a certain speed. This vibration is caused by the harmonics of this radial force. Picture the side view of a tire with different size springs within it. The force of these springs cause a distortion of this force and you feel this distortion in the steering wheel.
Could be out of balance Tire may be worn and need replacement Could be a bent wheel
First....can you feel the vibration in the steering wheel? Does the vibration continue to get worse as you increase speed? There can be many different answers. I would check all wheels for loose lug nuts or loose wheel. Next, check your tires for roundness. If a steel belt shifts in a tire, it will wobble. This usually happens if you hit a pothole or curb. See if someone can follow you and look to see if a wheel is wobbling. If you can feel the vibration in the steering wheel or the steering wheel actually wobbles in your hands, you will need to check all steering components for looseness and replace as neccessary. There is no hard or fast answer for this question. If the lugs are all tight on the wheels, check to make sure your tires are properly balanced...although I've never seen this cause a problem at only 10 MPH. If the vibration appears at higher speeds (40+) and the lugs are tight, the wheels are balanced, it may simply be time to get a front wheel alignment.
The vibration was so severe in the front end, I had trouble steering the car. I could only feel the vibration when the car accelerated. Earthquakes cause a distinct vibration of the earth.
this is a funny way to answer do yo feel the vibration in your but or the steering wheel. If its in your but there is a problem in the rear wheel assembly, ie bad belts in a tire, wheel bering, flat spot on a tire tire out of ballance
Its broke
If you feel any vibration or shimmy in the steering wheel or if you feel the same things in the vehicle you have a tire out of balance. As you need to rotate your tires at least every 10,000 miles that is a good time to have the tire balance checked.
well for starters your steering being out of alignment will wear one or both of your tires at a much faster rate than normal because they arent aligned with each other pointing in exact same direction as the other one. secondly the vibration if there is any and the pull you usually feel (and when i say "pull" im refering to when its out of alignment and your driving down the road the steering wheel will feel like its pulling to the right or left) will put alot of stress and wear on your tie rods and steering joints in your steering assembly making it hard to steer while driving if bad enough and expensive to fix
Notchy feel when turning the steering wheel Noise from the pump area when wheels are turned Possible stiffness when turning steering wheel.
