Why cant people connect to my minecraft server i port forwarded My other sever the one that isn't bukkit can be connected to I am using the pail thing but my friends can connect when they are over?

if other people can only connect to your server when they are in your internet at your house it because you have probably port forwarded with your internal ip address. To fix this Google "what is my external ip address" there should be several websites telling you your external ip address. Once you have your external ip change your port forwarding so that it is using that external ip.

- Don't turn off your firewall, that's just stupid.

First thing to check - are you actually connected to their LAN? It's not much use triyng to connect to a LAN game if you aren't.

The easiest way which even i use is to download Hamachi. When you install it. Hamachi will give u a generated ip. Put that Ip in to ur Minecraft Server.properties. The IP there. Then you and your server friends have to use that IP to connect. And Hamachi has to be on for it to connect.
