Work in these areas is normally scarce, so if someone offers your children a Dollar or 2 Dollars a day to sit in a factory this is a lot of money; it can mean the difference between life and death.

From a first world perspective child labour is an applauding thought, as most people could simply not imagine why a parent would allow or even place their children in this situation.

The simple fact of the matter is that in most cases these people do not have a choice, and of course there are employers who are equally unscrupulous who take advantage of this fact.

In order to eradicate the use of child labour you have to not only address the issue of the employers, but also the underlying social causes such as poverty. By removing the factories and employers all this does is force people to look for other ways to fight for a living - this could even lead to a greater problem than child labour, which would be the slave trade or prostitution.
