the human body can metabolise approx 1 unit of alcohol per hour- AFTER YOU HAVE STOPPED DRINKING. one unit of alcohol is equal to around half to one pint of beer dependant of course on strength.
there fore if you drink 1 unit per hour from 4pm til 2am (reasonably big night out) it will take until 10am for all the alcohol to be out of your system.
it is of course entirely dependant on size, weight, metabolism, food, hydration.
for example- a couple of weekends ago i finished drinking at around 5am after approx 18-22 units and accordingly was noticeably drunk when i tried to go to work the next day for 1pm
