Agamemnon had taken a woman named Chryseis as his slave. Her father Chryses, a priest of Apollo, begged Agamemnon to return her to him. Agamemnon refused and Apollo sent a plague amongst the Greeks. The prophet Calchas correctly determined the source of the troubles but would not speak unless Achilles vowed to protect him. Achilles did so and Calchas declared Chryseis must be returned to her father. Agamemnon consented, but then commanded that Achilles' battle prize Briseis be brought to replace Chryseis. Angry at the dishonor and at the urging of Thetis, Achilles refused to fight or lead his troops alongside the other Greek forces.
She was something he had fought for, and Agamemnon just told him to give it up, while he could've done so himself too.
Because Achilles is awesome
Thetis was promised that Achilles would have honor and glory.
Agememnon and Achilles were not arguing over a woman, but the fact that Agememnon had lost their honor.
to regain the honor the king took from him when he took away his honor, therefore Achilles wanted the king to suffer how he did.
Achilles flaws are that he is driven by anger and revenge. A true hero's characteristics are goodness and honor. Achilles did not possess either and he desecrated Hector's body which is considered deplorable.
The disagreement shows the value of Honor to the ancient Greeks. Agamemnon took away Briseis, Achilles's prize. A prize is given for bravery in battle and taking it away is like taking away a medal of honor. Achilles became very mad because he felt as if his honor was diminished.
To give honor to her son Achilles.
Achilles asked Thetis to go to Zeus and ask the god to give him honor.
I dont think so but it has been damaged from 7 floods, but i dont think it was robbed.
She promises to ask Zeus to side with the Trojans in the battle.
I don't think Achilles stole anything from Patroclus. Patroclus stole Achilles armor and war it into battle. The Trojans thought he was Achilles and killed him.
Achilles killed Hector mainly to avenge the death of his friend, Patrokolos. Also, it made sense for him to kill Hector because they both were the best fighters on their respective sides. If Achilles killed Hector, he would gain a lot of honor.
