Achilles killed Hector mainly to avenge the death of his friend, Patrokolos. Also, it made sense for him to kill Hector because they both were the best fighters on their respective sides. If Achilles killed Hector, he would gain a lot of honor.
Hector , having killed Patroclus , was then slain by Achilles because Patroclus was a dear friend of Achilles .
Hector begged Achilles - not to spare his life, but to treat his body with respect after killing him. Achilles then refused to return Hector's body to his father.

Patroclos killed in battle by Hector Hector killed in battle by Achilles Achilles killed in battle by Paris Paris killed in battle by Philoctetes Agamemnon killed by his wife Clytmnestra
Patroclus was Achilles cousin and was killed in the Trojan War by Hector. He was killed while wearing Achilles armour.
Hector
Hector had killed Achilles' friend Patroclus.
He thought that he was Achilles.
Hector was wearing the armor of Achilles (taken from the dead Patroclus) so Achilles knew that it was weak at the neck. Using a spear, he stabbed Hector in the neck.
sword
Tied his body to a chariot and drag it in circles round the city of Troy.
The death of Achilles, as predicted by Hector with his dying breath, was brought about by Paris with an arrow to the heel(Sometime, after the death of Hector).
Achilles fought hector out side of the gates of Troy. Both talked about what would happen if either of them killed the other. Achilles drew first blood by throwing his spear at hector. Achilles misses hector and hector throws his spear at Achilles and he blocks the spear with his shield. This is what myth tells us Athena goddess of wisdom takes Achilles spear and throws it back to Achilles and hector does not see this. But hector had no reserved spear but thinks his one of his brothers is by his side. Athena posses as one of hectors brothers and tells hector that he will help hector fight Achilles. Hector is tricked by Athena and then has no choice. Hector charges for Achilles and Achilles does the same. Achilles has a longer weapon and so he thrashes his spear into hectors windpipe. Hector still has some few moments left and then ask Achilles to give his body back to his loved ones at troy so he may be properly buried. Achilles refuses and hectors last words is the Paris t who was the one who started the entire war will kill Achilles at the gates of troy where hector is being killed now. In all honest opinion I think that Achilles didn't have help from a goddess and that he had a javelin and a spear but hector only had a javelin and did not see Achilles spear. The he rest of the fight I think happened.
it means that although Achilles is not present, his presence is still felt through his influence on those who are. Achilles makes this statement to Hector after mortally wounding him to avenge his friend, Patroclus, whom Hector had killed while Patroclus wore Achilles armor. Achilles was not present in battle when Hector killed his friend, yet Achilles influenced the battle and Hector should have known that Achilles would avenge the act and kill Hector. Save
In the epic poem "The Iliad" by Homer, Achilles kills Hector during the Trojan War. Achilles seeks vengeance for the death of his close companion Patroclus, which leads to a fierce battle where he ultimately defeats Hector in single combat.
If he wasn't killed Achilles wouldn't have wanted to kill Hector.
Hector was a Spartan, Achilles fought for the Trojans...Wrong!!! Hector was a Trojan. The best Trojan in fact.
Patroclus is the reason why Achilles desired to kill Hector.
