However, after they largely replaced spears, which had been the hunters' weapons of choice for millennia. And it helped the hunters to wound an animal from farther away. Arrowheads were easier to make and there less costly to lose than the larger, heavier spear points. The manufacturing of spears made to start a smaller- game hunting.
