Why did Christopher cloumbus explore?

He wanted to seek the route to Asia. Most people say he discovered America, others say he didn't. They were other people who have been to America before him. When, he was on his ship with his sailors, he was the captain. Him and he's sailors did not see any aight of land. His men began to grumble, they were afraid the would never see home again. To help them stay calm, Christopher kept two (2) records, or ships log. The first one he, recorded the actually distance that sailed each day. In the second one, he recorded a shorter distance. He showed his crew the second log so they would not know how far they were from Spain. Still, the men worried. They demanded Columbus to turn back, Columbus asked them to wait two (2) more days, If, they didn't see any land, he will return back to Spain. Just in time, October 12, 1492, a lookout yelled "¡Tierra! ¡Tierra!" (Land! Land!).
