She was from an enemy tribe- she lured him and deliberately stole his strength...as the story goes.
ANS2:The source of Samson's strength was not his hair. His hair was a symbol of the promise he made to God, from Whom his strength came. Her cutting his hair was the symbol of her coming between Samson and his God. After Samson was blinded, he finally 'saw the light' and repented. God gave him his strength back so he could pull down the main pillars and collapse the palace.Delilah's motivation to cut his hair must have come from her desire to control Samson.
Mel Gibson could probably describe a similar story.
It's not. There is no mention of Delilah's adultery, Delilah being Samson's wife, in the Bible. However, Delilah did engage in treason and deceitful behavior, using sex to elicit from Samson the cause of his strength and cutting his hair when she discovered this to be the source of his power.
Samson's parents were clearly told that Samson should not cut his hair as it would be the source of hiss strength.
After failing three times to get the secret of Samson's strength, she finally wheedled it out of him. Then when he was asleep she called the Philistines and arranged for his hair to be cut. She did not actually do the cutting but had someone do it for her (see Judges 16:19).
If this is a quiz question, to which you require the answer, I expect the answer required is Delilah, who was responsible for cutting off the hair of Samson. However, if this is the answer required by the quiz setter, this is totally incorrect. Delilah did not cut off the hair of Samson, but called for a servant to do it. The servant was male, not female:Judges 16:18When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, "Come back once more; he has told me everything." So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. Having put him to sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him. There are no records of a female barber in the Bible.
In the King James versionJud 16:19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
Delilah cut out all of Samsons hair, and he lost his strength with it.
long hair
It was not, in fact, Delilah that cut off Samson's hair. First of all, we should note Samson's head was shaved, not clipped. Delilah made Samson "sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head." So, it seems poor Delilah has received a good deal of bad press she didn't deserve.
Delilah has curly blond hair, she's not super skinny, yet not at all near fat. You can see her here online...Sometimes she wears glasses
There is a Delila. She is the woman that tempted Samson to cut off his hair, his source of strength.
Samson, a figure from the Bible, lied when asked to reveal the source of his great strength by Delilah. He eventually told her that his strength came from his uncut hair, leading to his downfall when she betrayed him.

Samson was betrayed to the Philistines by Delilah, a woman who had been bribed by them to discover the secret of his strength. She cut his hair, the source of his power, leading to his capture and eventual death.
Iceberg is to titanic as Delilah is to Samson (Samson was destroyed by Delilah who cut off his hair in the Bible, and he lost his strength, as is the Iceberg which destroyed titantic).
His weakness was his hair.
