they opposed the communist
Not sure how they were different but I do know that the US supported the south because we basically wanted to stop the spread of communism. The north was controlled by communists and we didn't want to south likewise
Because of the domino theory. The North was communist and wanted to unite Vietnam to become one communist country. The USA backed the south because it wasn't communist and didn't want Vietnam to fall to communism.
Alright. The Vietnam War begin because the U.S. president, Eisenhower didn't want communism to spread throughout the world and eventually to America. The war ended because the north and south of Vietnam signed a treaty.
The United States supported Ngo Dinh Diem as ruler of South Korea in his fight against the communists in North Korea. The US gave support to Diem for much of his rule, but eventually allowed him to be overthrown and assassinated without resistance.
The US was trying to preserve the Republic of South Vietnam; an effort that failed.
You probably want to know which continent Vietnam is in. It is in Asia -south Asia.
Both were members of the South East Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) - as was the Republic of South Vietnam.
No war in Vietnam! The awnser is that they did not want the war to be happening and they were on the side of the south Vietnam war and was against that there was violence and wanted the south to be free of Vietnam but eventully they lost. Hop it helped
Preserve the Republic of South Vietnam from a communist take over. Which failed. then we pulled out of there.
The U.S. didn't want communism to spread, so they sided with South Vietnam.
fear of being killed.
Viet Congs: North communist Vietnamese supporters of the communist Front in North Vietnam during the Vietnam War (known in Vietnam as the American War). The Viet Congs fought against both the government/military of South Vietnam and the armed forces of the United States between 1959 and 1975. They were initially a loose grouping of guerrilla fighters. Quick Note: South Vietnam/South Vietnamese didn't want the communist takeover from communist North Vietnam, they wanted to be a democratic country. U.S. entered the war to stop the spread of communism and support the democratic South Vietnam.
