Of many possible ways to approach this answer, one good one is this: Germany lost because Hitler refused to listen to his generals. At several critical times during the war, he got excellent advice from his generals that he disregarded out of hand, because he felt they were wrong. Listening to and following the advice of those generals at the time, could have made the course of the war in Europe much different. That is one reason Germany lost World War II.
