If God himself came to earth and men accepted him as such, then there would be no need for faith. God would have proved Himself to exist. We learn by faith and not by sight that God exists. So prophets were placed upon the earth to testify of God and His son Jesus Christ. We strengthen our faith by their words, and by the testimony of the Holy Ghost. There will always be prophets upon the earth, some will be true prophets while the majority will be false prophets. The scriptures say "By their works ye shall know them". Prophets are often thought of as those who predict the future, yet this was only a part of their role. They were primarily sent to proclaim God's message, and this was often to denounce sin and warn of coming judgment, the aim of which was to avert this by turning God's people to repentance. It is ironic that probably the most successful prophet in terms of a response to his message was Jonah, whose message to wicked heathen Nineveh resulted in 100% success, at least for a time. God's own people were often far from responsive to the many prophets that God sent.

Then, as today, there are many false prophets who proclaim a message which is contrary to what God says in His word, as mentioned above. Then, as now, these often say 'all is well' and 'peace peace' when there is no peace and tolerate sin, rather than seeking to turn people away from it.

Ultimately God sent prophets with warnings because of His love and mercy and He always seeks to provide a way of escaping hell and claiming heaven.

Allah, the Greatest, sent prophets in order to preach the message that they need to observe good deeds and the truth for His sake in order to receive Paradise and avoid going into the Hellfire in the afterlife.

i thought that the prophets had visions that were so like realalistic, serious, and stuff that they did it for the love of God and went out and preched his word to everyone. either that or they were super holy and practiced and worshiped Him a lot. i want to say both but whatever.

God calls all those into his service the same way today. He also uses other means as well, to include apparitions, appearances, signs, symbols, and other angelic manifestations, even written communications.

A prophet is someone who "predicts the future" or "advocates a cause or an idea."

God inspired the prophets of The Bible to "write His Words" down to remind man to keep His laws... and to inform the latter generations of His plan, revealed in annual Sabbath feasts.

The books of the Bible are the "books that shall be opened" on Judgment Day:

"...and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." (Rev.20:12)

"...He that rejecteth Me, and receive not My Words, hath one that judgeth him: the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the Last Day [Judgment Day]. (John 12:48)

The Bible has been the bestselling book of all time. It's our Creator's revealed Truth, which the five human physical senses cannot perceive, naturally.

It contains God's "spiritual" Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding... as opposed to man's errant, deceptive, carnal minded reasoning processes.

It's God's "instruction book" for man, created in His image. It's profitable to man:

"...for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be [become] perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (II Tim.3:16-17)

That's why the prophets were used in the Bible.

Another perspective:The prophets also demonstrate God's omniscience (that He is "all knowing"). It's a common misconception that God brought things about because they had been prophesied, when in truth, it's the other way around...they were prophesied from God's foreknowledge that such things would come to pass.

Any sufficiently powerful god would not need any prophets.
Much of mankind cannot agree on the existence of a god or gods nor how it or they should be worshipped. So mankind creates religions which best suit the needs of the time and place.
It is an individual choice to choose a religion or reject them.
Should you choose a religion to believe in then you should refer to the shaman of that religion to explain it to you.
