The thing most people fail to understand about "sin" is that "...sin is the transgression [breaking] of the Law." (I John 3:4).

Sin is the breaking of the Ten Commandments [see Rom.7:7].

Most people don't understand that it's through one's Faith in the Power of Jesus' [Perfect and Divine] SHED BLOOD to BLOT OUT OUR SINS [or our PAST disobedience to God's Commandments - see Rom.3:25], by which God is OFFERING MAN FORGIVENESS.

"...almost all things are BY THE LAW purged with blood; and WITHOUT SHEDDING OF BLOOD is NO REMISSION." (Heb.8:22)

The problem with "breaking the law" [as opposed to living WITHIN the law] is that it "carries with it a PENALTY" -- DEATH.

"For the wages of sin is DEATH; but the GIFT of God [the Father] is Eternal Life THROUGH Jesus Christ our LORD." (Rom.6:23)

Plus, most religious people fail to see "religion" as having anything to do with REAL LIFE. For instance, when most "religious people" think of God's "forgiveness" through Christ's blood... they think they are afterwards forever free of sin [or that they can NEVER SIN AGAIN].

But is that logical? Is that how REAL LIFE works?

If you break the law and murder someone, you fall [or should fall] in society under the DEATH PENALTY [i know in our liberal society that disagrees with God's Judgments this isn't so, because people like to judge God]. But, in the event, in REAL LIFE, if the governor should PARDON you; if he should FORGIVE you your transgression [because you are SORRY for having broken the law, and REPENT of your PAST sin] -- is the governor setting you free to go out and murder again... or does he expect you to go out into society and LIVE WITHIN THE LAW [be OBEDIENT to the law]?

Few people understand that it isn't Jesus' shed blood that SAVES you! Your Faith in Jesus' shed blood only JUSTIFIES you... or SETS YOU RIGHT with God... or it only BLOTS OUT YOUR PAST SINS. Again: it's Jesus:

"whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation[expiation, an atoning victim] THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare His Righteousness for the REMISSION OF SINS that are PAST [for our PAST transgressions, not FUTURE ones], through the forbearance of God..." (Rom.3:25).

False religion has people "hanging around at the foot of the stauros [cross] of the dead Christ," thinking that it SAVES them from death. But they fail to learn the lesson of the FIRST EXODUS, which is a microcosm of God's salvation. When the Israelites faith in the "shed blood" of the lambs struck on the windows and doors and their homes resulted in their being LIBERATED [freed] from Egypt [sin] -- THEY WERE TOLD TO RUN AWAY FROM EGYPT [sin], not stay there wallowing in it. For to stay there in sin after they were free to go forth into the world in NEWNESS OF LIFE would have resulted in them being DRAWN BACK INTO BONDAGE TO EGYPT.

Indeed, did Pharaoh and his armies CHASE AFTER the Israelites to BRING THEM BACK INTO BONDAGE TO SIN [Egypt]. But, what happened? The Living Christ [the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament and of Abraham - see John 1:3 & 10] STOOD BETWEEN Pharaoh and his armies just as He stands between His Faithful, today, and Satan and his demons, who are trying to draw God's Faithful servants back into disobedience to God's Commandments.

No... "religious" people seldom see their religion as having any relevance to REAL LIFE. "Once saved, always saved," you hear them say. But God still says to RUN AWAY FROM SIN [your Faith in Jesus' shed blood has SET YOU RIGHT WITH GOD; you no longer have God's DEATH PENALTY ON YOUR HEAD] -- YOU'RE FREE!

"For when we were ENEMIES, we were RECONCILED TO GOD by THE DEATH OF HIS SON..." (Rom.5:10).

-- We weren't SAVED by the death of His Son... we were only RECONCILED; JUSTIFIED, made right with God by having all of our PAST SINS [disobedience] blotted out and wiped clean --

"...much more, BEING RECONCILED [by Faith in Jesus' shed blood], we SHALL BE SAVED [future tense] BY HIS LIFE." (same verse)

After one's liberation from death's penalty by Faith in Christ's blood; a person's responsibility now is to OBEY GOD'S LAWS and LIVE WITHIN THE LAW [not above the law, or beneath its penalty of death for having broken or transgressed it again].

The thing about "forgiveness" is that we can't see what a person is thinking. God can. I've heard victimized people say, categorically, when faced with the one who transgressed against them: "I forgive you." That's truly an amazing thing to do, and it's a wonderful Godly attitude.

But I seldom hear the "sinner"... the perpetrator of the crime... ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. There's no telling what the person is thinking: whether the person is "sorry" for what they did; or whether they were sorry for "having been caught."

Most folks don't "know," or "believe," or in some cases "care" that at the end of God's plan is the "Last Great Day" that God calls JUDGMENT DAY.

God is presently holding out an INVITATION to all of mankind for FORGIVENESS of their transgressions [disobedience] against Him. Just like any decent father would give his errant children every chance to repent of their evil ways. And that FORGIVENESS comes ONLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, His Firstborn Son "of MANY BRETHREN" [see Rom.8:29].

Our Creator is a LAW-ABIDING God, and is ready and able to forgive anyone who "repents" of their disobedience to His Laws... anyone who "believes" what His Word says... and anyone who OBEYS Him. He tells us His Word is GOOD NEWS [gospel]:

"...Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the GOSPEL [Good News] of THE [coming] KINGDOM OF GOD, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND: REPENT ye, and BELIEVE the gospel." (Mark 1:14-15)

"...Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, 'REPENT, and BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION OF SINS, and ye SHALL receive the GIFT of the HOLY SPIRIT." (Acts 1:37-38)

God HAS to offer His forgiveness the way He does, because through Christ is THE ONLY WAY to do it:

"...'These are the Words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that ALL THINGS MUST BE FULFILLED, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, CONCERNING ME. Then He OPENED THEIR UNDERSTANDING, that they might UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES, and said unto them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved CHRIST TO SUFFER, and to RISE AGAIN from the dead on the third day: and that REPENTANCE and REMISSION OF SINS should be preached IN HIS NAME among ALL NATIONS, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:44-47)

"Though He were a Son, yet learned He OBEDIENCE by the things which HE SUFFERED; and being MADE PERFECT, He became the Author of Eternal SALVATION unto all them THAT OBEY HIM..." (Heb.5:8-9)

God is making His Children: His Immortal Divine Family through mankind. And FORGIVENESS is only PART of the process. God's Children must be made PERFECT, like their Elder Firstborn Brother. This "first-stage" of life He's given us is a series of spiritual and character growth and developmental experiences that will last us FOREVER. Experiences by which we are all approaching the parturition of our re-birth into God's Divine Family.

No one on this planet "asked to be born." And none of us chose who our father would be. But through belief in, and with an understanding of the inspired Word of God: we can be aware of our coming RE-birth and be cognizant of our character development. And we can CHOOSE the father we prefer to OBEY.

We can choose God the Father:

"The [Holy] Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD: and if Children, then Heirs; Heirs of God, and Joint-Heirs WITH CHRIST; if so that WE SUFFER WITH HIM, that we may be also GLORIFIED TOGETHER." (Rom.8: 16-17)

Or we can choose Satan:

"Why do ye not understand My speech? Even because ye CANNOT HEAR MY WORD. Ye are OF YOUR FATHER THE DEVIL, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a MURDERER from THE BEGINNING, and abode not in the Truth, because there is no Truth in him. When he speaketh a LIE, he speaketh of his own: for he is a LIAR, and THE FATHER [the originator[ of it." (John 8:43-44)

But we have to CHOOSE whether or not we want to disobey God or obey Him. We have to make a CHOICE as to whether or not we want to repent of "sinning." This determines which one is our father of choice. And if it's God's FORGIVENESS that we want; it has to be HIS WAY, through His Son... not by some thought processes of our own.

Even the flesh and blood man, Jesus, had to make the choice to obey His Father's will -- and HE NEVER SINNED! :

"...'Father, IF THOU BE WILLING, REMOVE THIS CUP FROM ME: nevertheless not My will, BUT THINE, BE DONE." (Luke 22:42)

It is an insightful question, to ask why God sent his Son to die on the cross in order to persuade God to forgive us, when he could simply have forgiven us anyway. The answer to this is that the Christian religion probably needs the drama of the crucifixion in order to prosper and survive. How often do Christians refer to the crucifixion whenever they want to find proof that God is real or that by believing in the crucifixion we will be 'saved'?

Are all of your sins forgiven even if you don't confess them?

Roman Catholic AnswerNo, not normally. If you are referring to a good confession in which you, perhaps, honestly forgot a sin, then, yes, in that instance, the sin would be forgiven IF you mention it during your next confession, and tell the priest that you honestly forgot it last time. But if you are asking if your sins are forgiven if you just neglect to go to confession and tell all of them, then no. Jesus set up confession as the normal way of having your sins forgiven, and you must abide by that.

What does the risen Jesus give us?

Hope. Just as Jesus rose from the dead so will believers rise from the dead.

Do all the types of Christianity believe the fewest requirements to go to heaven is to have faith in Jesus and get all your sins forgiven?

The Catholic church does not teach that you have to have faith in Jesus and get your sins forgiven in order to get to heaven. It does however, recognize that the only way to get to heaven is through Jesus and his death on the cross. But there are plenty in the world who have never heard the Gospel, they are not required to know or "accept" Jesus in order to get to heaven. They are called to live good and moral lives as they see fit within the beauty of our human dignity. Native Americans are not to be held responsible for their isolation from the middle east. 1,000 years ago. No just God would condemn them to hell just because of their geography.

Can you be forgiven of the deadly sins?

You can always be forgiven! From a religious perspective, God always forgives your sins, no matter what you commit. From a non-religious perspective, you can still always be forgiven, it just depends by who. If the victim feels really insecure or hurt, they may never forgive you. It all lies in your heart.

Will God forgive you for thinking of an example of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

Yes. God has already forgiven our sins through the blood sacrifice of His Son Jesus. Blasphemy Of The Holy Spirit is denying in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead. Just thinking the thought or wondering about it is not believing it.

Explain the God's sheer determination to deliver mankind from the bondage of satan's slaverythrough the power of Jesus sacrificial death for you and me?

before Jesus dies on the cross, people had to kill animals (sacrifices) to be forgiven for their sins. by Jesus dying on the cross, He made it to where he was the ultimate sacrifice and now we no longer have to sacrifice animals, but instead we can just ask for forgivness.
