Because Saul disobeyed God .

God commanded King Saul to; " Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." 1 Samuel 15:3.

But Saul spared King Agag. 15:9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.

And the Lord repented that He made Saul King. 15:35...and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.

God sends an evil spirit to torment Saul (1 Samuel 16:14) and his attendants suggest he send for David, a young warrior famed for his bravery and for his skill with the harp. Saul does so, and makes David one of his armor-bearers. From then on, "whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. When does the holy spirit enter into a person?

The answer to this question is unknown since it is not written specifically in the Bible. The Bible mentions the Holy Spirit but not specifically when we receive it. In Psalm David asks God not to take the Holy Spirit away from him, which means David had The Holy Spirit and was afraid God would take it away. In the New Testament Jesus says to his disciples that He is leaving but will send a 'Helper', this is considered to be the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is about the Disciples receiving The Holy Spirit. So, although the Bible talks about The Holy Spirit, it does not tell us when we receive or why.

Where in the bible does God say you will send an evil force?

The Hebrew word 'rah' which is translated as 'evil' in some Versions of the Bible is a difficult word to bring into English. The Hebrew usually compares one thing and then states the outcome accordingly. In many cases, when 'rah' is translated as evil, it would be better translated as 'calamity or distress' especially when referencing a natural disaster or pending one.Amos 3:6King James Version (KJV) 6Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?In the NKJV, evil is translated as 'calamity' while in the NIV it is translated as disaster.
