Because after WW1, the Danzig Corridor was given to Poland, separating east Prussia from the rest of Germany. The Bolsheviks intially considered allowing German access to their cut off territory. The USA (indirectly) and UK offered assurances to Poland, who set about murdering Germans, and refusing access to the territory. Hitler invaded, and the UK declared war.
Hitler invaded Austria because he said that it was part of the German empire before the First World War (He wanted another empire)
Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia because there were 3 million Germans living in the newly expanded Czechoslovakia, after the Treaty of Versailles. he also wanted the Czech army and any resources available.
Hitler invaded Poland because he signed a deal with Russian leader Stalin (The Nazi-Soviet Pact) that agreed to split the country. Hitler then invaded and took the west of Poland, and Stalin took the east. Hitler didn't believe that Britain and France would keep their promise to help Poland, but they did.
And so Britain joined the war.
^_^
Adolf Hitler had the adgenda of uniting the European German speaking peoples under one unified state. Poland contained a sizable amount of German speaking people, and after the capitulation of Czechslovakia, Hitlers window of opportunity opened through newly accessable Czech land neighboring Poland.
I was talking to my Great Babcia yesterday and I asked, "Why did Hitler invade Poland?" and she told me this. (She was in Poland when Hitler started to attack) This is the true reason:
At the time, Poland didn't have much access to the Baltic Sea. It was very important to the Polish because they fished in that sea. So Germany, which had very large access to the Baltic Sea, wanted to take the remaining access to the sea. But the Polish didn't want to give up the remaining access. So Hitler started a war. Later on, America came over and helped Poland. So Germany lost.
Hitler had several reasons; one of which for 'Lebensraum', which is living space in German. Hitler believed that his German people needed greater 'Lebensraum' to expand in size and greatness. He also felt that much of the German people were living in Poland, following the Treaty of Versailles (Land was taken from Germany to form Poland), so he believed he was taking back what was German's, and reforming Germany.
To be simple - He didn't invade Poland first. He invaded Austria + Czechslovakia first
But then he realised he couldn't so he comited suicide...:S
Hope that helped ! =) x
Hitler did not expect the British and French to retaliate as they did not retaliate with Germany's rearming and its invading of other countries.

No, because by that time Hitler had lost the war, and committed suicide.
He invaded the country called spell properly
Hitler, Austrian by birth, had no reason to invade Germany. About two years after becoming chancellor of Germany, Hitler had a firm choke hold on the entire country, so he then focused on invading other countries.
Hitler also invaded Poland along with many other countries! Hitler didn't invade Germany. The Nazis invaded Poland, France, and the USSR. This is after they annexed Austria and the Sudetenland of then Czechoslovakia.
Hitler did not invade North Korea.
Started to invade countries and starting the "Holocaust".
