The Sudetenland had always been part of Germany until the victorious Allies simply took it from Germany in 1919 and gave it away to the newly established Czech Republic.

When the Empire of Austria-Hungary fell apart after 1918, the German-speaking part (today's Austria) had itself requested permission from the Allies to be made part of Germany. This request was then denied. Although the Anschluss of both countries was and is often painted as an act of agression by Germany, it had at the time wide support in Austria, and not only among Austrian Nazis.

At one time they were part of Germany so he thought of it as getting back what was lost. Even today there are some in Germany who believe that they should be part of the German state.

Where did Hitler take over in 1936?

he didn't took over any country, the first country he took over was Poland, which he took over in September 1 1939 *adding on, he didnt take over any country, but he did send an army to the Rhineland, an area that according to the Treaty of Versailles, was not supposed to be occupied by German military. He did this to basically "test the waters" to see how the world would react.

How many times did Hitler attempt to get assassinated?

Oh, we may never know. Stauffenbergs bomb in the 'wolf's lair' that july-day 1944 was the culmination of a serious attempt to kill Hitler off. Very unfortunately, Stauffenberg choose to only put one of the 2 explosives he had obtained in his briefcase. Had he put both in, maybe Hitler would have died. Soon after the bomb had gone off, Hitler survived, a great many officers were rounded up and executed. Many of those who had nothing to do with the bombing were also killed, some that were involved escaped detection. One person that comes into my mind was Rommel. He almost certainly did not have anything to do with this attempt, was encouraged to swallow a poision capsule. After being told that his family would be looked after, he did. The capsule did not kill him at first, he eventually died in great agony in the car that was supposedly taking him to the hedquarters. Adolf Hitler had ordered Rommels funeral flowers even before Rommel took the capsule. ---

Why did Hitler feel justified in taking over Austria?

Hitler took over Austria in 1938 because many links were shared between Germany. He created an 'Anschluss' with Austria. Hitler also was born in Austria and this made him want Austria. Hitler also had the idea of 'Lebensraum' or Living room/space in which he gelt was needed, so he took Austria. Austria did not really mind this as it had economic problems within from being separated from Germany previously. If you are in PA Cyber it is because Hitler believed in uniting the German-speaking peoples of Europe. And that can be found on page 828 of your textbook... =D Also, he tried to take over Austria in 1934 but was stopped by Mussolini. When Hitler allied with him, he was able to take over Austria without interference! (Sarah) Austrians are Ethnic Germans.
