around 1633 King Charles I started ship money because he had got rid of Parliament and he was running out of money so he decided to use a tax that only occurred in the time of war and at that time Britain was not involved in war so because of his Divine Right he thought he might might as well use ship money to get more money
King Charles asked asked parliament for money but they said only if you give us more power. He refused and dissolved them (disband them) and ruled on his own for 11 yrs. The ship tax was used to build boats in the army so people were annoyed when he said it was just general now.

, this one is a very difficult one as the answer will not yet be known, it has been said that Charles may use a different name as king, but if he does continue to use Charles as his name then the initials would be C.R, which means Charles Reginier C.R. would stand for Charles Rex (King Charles), just as E.R. stands for Elizabeth Regina (Queen Elizabeth), with the Latin II for two between the two letters.
He didn't do it on purpose, basically he raised taxes because he had waisted all of his money and was very unpopular. He demanded that the Scots use an English prayer book, they rioted and King Charles I sent an army to calm them down. This plan did not work and the Scots invaded the North of England.
