The Battle of Gettysburg, although a Union victory, cost the Army of the Potomac some 23,000 lives. It was such a large loss of lives (for both sides) that Lincoln was asked to come to say a "few words" at the dedication of a battlefield cemetery. Lincoln took the opportunity to encourage the people of the North to continue the struggle to save the Union. The brief inspirational speech became widely known and succeeded in reinforcing the morale of the North.

On November 2, 1863, several months after the Battle of Gettysburg David Wills invited President Lincoln to make a 'few appropriate remarks' at the consecration of a cemetery for the union solders. Lincoln accepted the invitation, probably viewing it as an appropriate time to honor those who gave their lives in the Civil War. He may also have seen the dedication as an opportunity to reveal his evolving thinking about the war, not only as a fight to save the union, but to also to establish freedom and equality for all under the law.

Grocery coupons which are purchased are usually not necessary. Most times, the purchasable coupons come among a bulk of coupons redeemable at several locations for many goods. These deals are usually not found anywhere else and are the result of a 'deal' between retailers and the coupon provider. One site which advertises coupons on their site is: http://thecouponclippers.com/
