There are probably several reasons why she had so many children. One was because she loved her husband and enjoyed having sex with him. Another was because at least at the beginning of their relationship they had no idea how not to conceive which lead to her getting pregnant about a month after they got married

The second was because Queen Victoria used them as pawns so to say to marry them off to other royal families as as a result of that every current monarch in Europe is somehow related to Queen Victoria including the monarch consorts.

In those days there was no reliable form of contraception. Doctors were attempting to work out a rhythm method, but they did not understand enough about the menstrual cycle to do this accurately. Condoms were not efficient until late in Victoria's life, when she was a widow.
People who could afford to look after as many children as might be born - as the Queen obviously could! - made no attempt to prevent conception. Queen Victoria's grandmother, Queen Charlotte, had given birth to fifteen children.
